Imperial Beach Hunger Collaborative

Imperial Beach Hunger CollaborativeImperial Beach Hunger Project

The Imperial Beach Hunger Collaborative is an effort of local organizations working together to address the issue of hunger in Imperial Beach.  For nearly twenty years, the IB United Methodist Church has served those with food insecurity through their food pantry.  But the need is great.  And together, we can address the need for food in Imperial Beach.

It is known that one fourth of the households in Imperial Beach earn less than $2,000 per month. While many struggle to pay rent, bills, and gas, food often is at the bottom of the list.  This is a reality for young and old, singles and families and even the military.  And assistance from the government fails to fill the gaps.  Consequently, shelves are bare and people are hungry.

Believing a larger effort is needed, the IB Hunger Collaborative was created from the larger IB Collaborative and meets every second Wednesday at 9am at the YMCA: Camp Surf.  All interested with this issue are encouraged to attend.
