City-Wide Food Pantry – Imperial Beach Hunger Collaborative
The Imperial Beach Hunger Coalition’s Citywide Food Pantry is a collaborative effort of local organizations working together to address the issue of hunger in Imperial Beach. For nearly twenty years, the IB United Methodist Church has served those with food insecurity through their food pantry. But the need is great.
In Imperial Beach, one fourth of the households earn less than $2,000 per month. While many struggle to pay rent, bills, and gas, food often is at the bottom of the list. This is a reality for young and old, singles and families and even the military. And assistance from the government fails to fill the gaps. Consequently, shelves are bare and people are hungry.
Believing a larger effort is needed, the IB Hunger Coalition was created, meeting every second Wednesday at 9am at the Imperial Beach United Methodist Church. All interested with this issue are encouraged to attend.
Donation drop-off sites may be found throughout the city on the third week of every month to receive contributions.
Open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9-11am. The food pantry serves the Imperial Beach community.
