Imperial Beach United Methodist Women

For decades one of the strongest bodies of IBUMC has been the United Methodist Women’s group which meets quarterly and its NIGHT Circle which meets the first Monday of each month.  Following the tradition of “Faith, Hope and Love in Action,” the women support local and global missions through involvement with New Entra Casa, the Interfaith Shelter and contributions to UMCOR and global ministries.

A special mission is the Prayer Quilt Ministry, which has made and delivered over 140 lap quilts to persons who need prayer because of illness, accident, grief, or other circumstances.  Each quilt is displayed during church services where members and visitors are invited to “tie and pray” for the recipient of the quilts.  Quilts have been distributed not just in our area, but to a number of states. Recipients do not have to be members of this church.

Each year the IBUMW hosts a Craft Sale and luncheon to raise money to support its missions.  This is held either the second or third Saturday in November. Crafting and sewing go on for several months to produce the items which are sold.

All ladies are invited to be a part of UMW. You may contact Virginia Syverson @ or Mary Valley @
